Facilities & Venues
Decatur plays host to high-caliber tournaments and events such as the President’s Cup and the Olympic Development Program tryouts at our state-of-the-art soccer venues. Our newest facility, the Jack Allen Recreation Complex, was built in 2006 and boasts 10 fields on three tiers on 27 acres. The laser-graded certified sports turf, computerized irrigation system, and television-quality lighting are a few of the features that have organizers excited about our premier soccer venue.
Also new in 2006 is Ingalls Harbor with a 10-boat simultaneous launch capability; 1,088-linear-foot floating dock; 158 paved truck and trailer parking spaces; 100 plus overflow parking spaces; and 107 car parking spaces. It is a leading site for many national fishing tournaments, including the Wal-Mart FLW Tournament and the Bassmaster Open.
Nine venues with 30 playing fields — all within 20 minutes of one another — make Decatur an ideal location for your next softball/baseball tournament. Final rounds and championship games are played at Wilson Morgan Park, keeping the excitement levels high and making it easy on the organizers with one central press box/control area for six fields.
The 22-court Jimmy Johns Tennis Center is located in the heart of Point Mallard Park. It has four clay courts and 18 hard courts, including two indoor. The venue also includes meeting space and a pro shop and is adjacent to a family recreational bonanza at Point Mallard, featuring a water park, hiking and biking trails, golf course, batting cages and an indoor ice rink.
Decatur is ideal for tournaments and other sporting events large and small. We invite you to take a look for yourself and see why Decatur is a guaranteed victory.
